Legal Administrator - Property Department

We are currently looking for a Legal Assistant to work in our Property Department, on a full time basis. You will need to be confident in Word, Excel and Outlook, but full training will be given on our electronic case management system. Previous legal experience in property is preferred.

Key duties would include

  • Typing and preparing correspondence, documents and forms with a high degree of accuracy.  Experience with case management, Partner and dictation software, BigHand is preferred but not essential

  • Opening, updating and closing matter files and ensuring file compliance.

  • Preparing bills.

  • Corresponding with clients, as requested by fee earners, via email, phone and face to face.

  • Preparation of  all forms of documentation commonly used in  commercial and residential property transactions.

  • Using LMS, Lender Exchange and other lender management tools.

  • Undertaking ID verification and anti-money laundering compliance checks

  • Using the Land Registry portal to obtain documentation and submit applications for registrations.

  • Preparation of Stamp Duty Returns and submission of returns using the HMRC portal.

About you:

  • Organised with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage and meet deadlines.

  • Competent in all MS Office packages.

  • Good document preparation skills

  • Self-motivated, strong communicator and able to work independently.
