It is with real sadness that we are announcing the retirement next year of Iwan Emanuel, our fantastic Head of Corporate. Iwan brought with him a wealth of knowledge from his time in the City and has skilfully and successfully advised Allan Janes' corporate clients on a wide range of matters during his tenure with the firm. It is no exaggeration to say he will be sorely missed (although fortunately for us, he is willing to lend us his consultancy services as and when required!).

In light of Iwan's announcement, we are now looking for his replacement. Iwan is joined in our Corporate & Commercial Team by Nick Morrison and Aileen Houghton, who again both bring a wealth of blue-chip knowledge to the role. However, Iwan was the only solicitor in the practice whose sole focus was corporate law and its environs. 

This role would therefore suit someone who is sufficiently qualified to 'know their stuff' (5 years PQE+). It would also suit someone who is looking to grow a department and with the opportunity for the right candidate to step into a partnership role. Our firm has a strong client base of SME businesses and from the solid foundation built by Iwan, we feel that the right candidate could really push this work forward.

• VC Buy-out – Management Team Side

• Share Buybacks

• Partnership/LLP Agreements

• Shareholder Agreements

• Commercial Contracts (T’s & C’s/Distribution & Agency agreements)

• Franchise Agreements

• Employee Share Schemes

• General Corporate Advice (Director’s Duties and Rights, Unfair Prejudice etc)

• Cross-Option Agreements

• Company/LLP Set-up

• General Company Law Advice

Experience in the IP Licencing and Data Protection would also be helpful.
